QCalc.UsersGuide.Glossary.'lambda unit'

an invertible function that maps a number to a quantity and vice versa

Information

The function is not limited to multiplication.

Modelica definition

class 'lambda unit' "an invertible function that maps a number to a quantity and vice versa" end 'lambda unit';

QCalc.UsersGuide.Glossary.'lineic'

adjective that indicates the quotient of the following quantity and its associated length [× L-1]

Modelica definition

class 'lineic' "adjective that indicates the quotient of the following quantity and its associated length [× L-1]" end 'lineic';

QCalc.UsersGuide.Glossary.'massic'

adjective that indicates the quotient of the following quantity and its associated mass [× M-1]

Modelica definition

class 'massic' "adjective that indicates the quotient of the following quantity and its associated mass [× M-1]" end 'massic';

QCalc.UsersGuide.Glossary.'quantity'

"property of a phenomenon, body, or substance, where the property has a magnitude that can be expressed as a number and a reference" [JCGM2012]

Modelica definition

class 'quantity' ""property of a phenomenon, body, or substance, where the property has a magnitude that can be expressed as a number and a reference" [JCGM2012]" end 'quantity';

QCalc.UsersGuide.Glossary.'scalar unit'

a reference quantity that is used via multiplication to map a number to another quantity

Modelica definition

class 'scalar unit' "a reference quantity that is used via multiplication to map a number to another quantity" end 'scalar unit';

QCalc.UsersGuide.Glossary.'specific'

adjective that indicates the quotient of the following quantity and its associated amount of substance [× N-1]

Information

Note that that unlike the usual definition, "specific" does not indicate the quotient of a quantity and its associated mass; it is not synonymous with "massic." Also, since the quantities are written as if the Faraday constant is nondimensionalized (see Quantities), charge is an amount of substance and "specific" is equivalent to "per charge."

Modelica definition

class 'specific' "adjective that indicates the quotient of the following quantity and its associated amount of substance [× N-1]" end 'specific';

QCalc.UsersGuide.Glossary.'unit'

an entity that is used to map a number to a quantity and vice versa

Modelica definition

class 'unit' "an entity that is used to map a number to a quantity and vice versa" end 'unit';

QCalc.UsersGuide.Glossary.'volumic'

adjective that indicates the quotient of the following quantity and its associated volume [× L-3]

Information

Example: volumic mass [M L-3]

Modelica definition

class 'volumic' "adjective that indicates the quotient of the following quantity and its associated volume [× L-3]" end 'volumic';
